Life After Life

Series Overview

“Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.” Loretta Lynn sang that country hymn in the 60s. Allison Kraus re-released it in the 90s. In a way, we all sing it silently in the everyday ways we live.

What is heaven actually like? Will I have a job? A body? An actual house? Heaven…is it a geographical place? Or just a state of mind? Is it just for people…or are our pets there too?

Do you believe in heaven? If you do, does that mean you also believe in hell? I guess Christians all believe in it right? And they probably think they’re the only ones who are going to be there. So what does that mean for other people? For non-Christians? Heaven is a hot topic. People claim to have seen it and even communicated with people who are theoretically in it. God gave a picture of Heaven to the writers in the Bible. Sometimes it’s detailed and specific. Other times, it’s metaphorical and fuzzy. It offers definitive hope, yet leaves room for surprises and interpretations.

In this series we will talk about life after life, what it means to go to heaven and live there for all eternity, examine the picture that God gave John, the writer of Revelation and see if what we hear, what we think, and how we feel matches with God’s words.
