Many years ago, Don, Cynthia, and their 8-week old son headed to Belgium with a call to be missionaries there. In their time overseas, Don and Cynthia played a role in planting a church there, teaching English as a second language, and building relationships with those in their community.

The message of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to "encourage one another and build each other up" is the purpose by which they live their lives. Their heart for service and for encouragement of others is represented both in their time as missionaries and in how they build relationships with those in their community now. They are a real-life example of how purposefully living on mission can have an eternal impact on the people in our lives. It’s God’s call for us, and it should be a part of every person’s faith journey.
