    highlights
    • Busyness, distractions, social media, and investment in the wrong things all take our attention away from seeing miracles God is doing every day.
    • We parent out of fear in two ways: internal and external. Our role as parents is to help our kids move from dependence to independence. We want to raise Godly young adults.
    • We, as parents, have to model faith. We have to show our kids that we truly believe God is in control and help raise them to be bold and confident in who Jesus is.
    • It’s always okay to talk about God! There are times that are scarier than others but it’s always okay to share Him. Every time is an appropriate time and we have to model that.
    • Model It | We have to spend time with the Lord, studying His Word and praying, because that’s what will radiate in our homes and our parenting.
    • Teach It | Do as I say AND as I do! We want our kids to have a spiritual foundation and that starts with us, as parents, and how we model and believe that in our homes. What am I modeling for my kids and what values am I communicating to them?
    • What lens are we looking through? Sometimes in our kids’ lives, we substitute the things we believe are important (Christ, church, community, serving) for things that will advance them in this worldly life. But what makes an eternal impact in the lives of our children?
    • Be intentional | Pray daily: with and for your kids. Celebrate mile markers ALL along the way.
    • Parents still have the #1 influence in their child’s life. Pick the voices that speak into your child’s life!
    • Have conversations with your kids about what they are praying for, where they see God working and moving, and what are they learning about Him, too.
    • Encouragement from Jeff | Just don’t miss the moments. Enjoy, be present, embrace this time. Keep your priorities in check: God first, spouse second, kids next and then what you do. No one else gets to be the parents to your kids but YOU. God chose you to be their parents for a reason! Make the most of the opportunities God has given YOU!
