Content

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. Exodus 3:1

Moses went from tending the flock of his father-in-law to shepherding the people of his Heavenly Father.

There has always been something about a shepherd.

  • 1 Samuel 16:11

  • Ecclesiastes 12:11

  • Ezekiel 34:11

  • John 10:11

Can you see & hear this today from God’s Word?

  • God sees you.

  • God hears you.

  • God has great concern for you.

  • God offers rescue.

  • God has an incredible plan.

What’s your bush?
…for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29

What’s your response

Like Moses, we all struggle with:
identity (Exodus 3:11)
insecurity (Exodus 3:13)
inexperience (Exodus 4:1)
inadequacy (Exodus 4:10)

But God reminds us of His:
presence (Exodus 3:12)
promise (Exodus 3:17)
power (Exodus 4:8-9)
provision (Exodus 4:11-12)

All of Moses’ reservations rested on I can’t. All of God’s reminders were rooted in I Am.

Ultimately, hearing God’s call means readiness to submit to God’s will.
So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand. Exodus 4:20
