MEET KATHY
People need help and hope, and that is why Kathy Koon chose to become a counselor – and we have the joy of having her on our team as our Counseling Pastor! Kathy’s heart for counseling others comes from Scripture in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. God, our Father of compassion, comforts us in our affliction; therefore, she believes that God has called her to counsel and comfort those walking through challenging and troubling times in their life. Her hope is found in Christ, and even as she’s walked through some of life’s own obstacles, God has been faithful time and again, which has allowed her to become an incredible counselor and student of God’s Word. Kathy graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Biblical Counseling.
Outside of work, Kathy absolutely loves spending time with her husband, Scott, and her four grown children. She’s a big fan of afternoon naps and cuddling up with a good book. Traveling is also a passion Kathy has, and her very favorite location to visit is Neply, Haiti, where a few of her great friends live.
