Summary

In an ever-changing world, there is only One constant – Jesus. As God’s people today, we are to live in the confidence that He is forever and ever. Therefore, we live by faith and not fear. Out of our confidence in Christ, we are called to invest faith in Jesus to the next generation. We are called to pass on what has been entrusted to us. As parents, grandparents, and God’s Church today, we must leave a legacy of faith and invest in what matters. What legacy are you leaving?

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

  • Potential is God’s gift to us. What we do with it is our gift to Him.
  • There are only three things that are eternal – Jesus, His Word, and His Church.
  • Are you investing your life in the things of this world or in the things of God?

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

  • Lois and Eunice got it!
  • Who is your Timothy?
    • Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)

4. As God’s Church today, we must invest in the next generation.

And of this Gospel, I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 2 Timothy 1:11

  • We are a link in a chain of faith as God’s Church.
  • Paul invested in Timothy, and we must invest in the next generation.
    • Jesus said, Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them... Mark 10:14
  • As a church, we invest in the next generation.
