Child Safety + Abuse Prevention
At Rolling Hills Community Church, the safety and well-being of your children is one of our highest priorities.
We are dedicated to creating a secure, nurturing environment where kids can grow in faith and feel genuinely cared for.

Commitment to a Safe Environment
Rolling Hills Community Church maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abuse or neglect of any kind. Every staff member and volunteer is expected to prioritize the safety of children at all times. If any adult observes suspicious behavior, policy violations, or signs of neglect or abuse—whether physical, emotional, or sexual—they are required to report it immediately.
Examples of reportable concerns include:
- Inappropriate or concerning interactions with children
- Lack of supervision or disregard for safety procedures
- Any behavior that doesn’t reflect Christlike care for children
Volunteer Screening & Confidentiality
We take great care in ensuring that those who serve with children uphold the values and integrity of our church. All of our Kids Ministry volunteers go through a comprehensive screening process that includes:
- A criminal background check
- Child protection and safety training
- Personal interviews and reference checks
When concerns are reported, our response is handled with the utmost care and discretion. We work on a strict need-to-know basis to respect the privacy of all individuals involved, including children, families, and volunteers.
Our goal is always to respond wisely, protect the vulnerable, and walk alongside families with compassion and grace.

See Something? Say Something.
As followers of Christ, we believe it’s our responsibility to speak up if we witness or suspect abuse or inappropriate behavior.
If you have concerns, we encourage you to take action.
Our designated response team will carefully review each report and take appropriate next steps, which may include contacting law enforcement or other protective services, offering support to families, and taking immediate measures to protect children.
Tennessee Department of Children's Services
Tennessee law requires everyone to report suspected child abuse or neglect immediately.
If you believe a child is being harmed, it is your legal duty to make a report. You can do this by calling the Tennessee Child Abuse Hotline at 1-877-237-0004 or submitting a report online. A church staff member can assist you with this process.
When reporting, include as much detail as possible such as the child’s name, age, location, suspected abuse details, and names of involved individuals.
You may report anonymously, and those who report in good faith are protected by law. Reports must be made directly to DCS or law enforcement.
