Meet Pastor Jeff
Jeff Simmons is the Senior Pastor and Founder of Rolling Hills, where he passionately serves alongside a community he cherishes deeply. His journey in ministry began in high school, and since then, he has dedicated himself to witnessing God's transformative work in people's lives. Jeff's leadership is marked by joy and selflessness, guiding Rolling Hills with a heart full of gratitude for the opportunity to see lives changed by God's glory.
A graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Seminary, Jeff's time in ministry spans over two decades, primarily focused on youth and church planting. Beyond his pastoral duties, he serves as President of Justice & Mercy International and is actively involved in various boards and writing projects. Jeff finds immense joy in time with family, cherishing moments with his wife, Lisa, and their three daughters, Grace, Mabry, and Kate. Whether on the golf course with friends or engaged in missions across the globe, Jeff's life is a testament to his unwavering commitment to sharing God's love and hope with others.
The Gospel of Matthew // God’s Sovereignty in Jesus
Matthew’s Gospel is all about fulfillment. He uses that word more than any other Gospel writer and quotes the Old Testament 54 times, nearly double the others, to make one big point: Jesus is the Messiah Israel was waiting for and the Savior for everyone. He shows this two main ways. First, through prophecies coming true in Jesus. Second, through patterns where people or events in the Old Testament point forward to Him. And don’t miss the bookends. Matthew opens (1:23) and closes (28:20) with the same promise, “I am with you always.” That’s the heart of it. Jesus is with you.
