Missions Sunday // Jesus & the Devil

Jesus brings a new kingdom, a new sign, and a new family. Through Jesus, the kingdom of God comes to earth as the Spirit of God is at work. Jesus is also the ultimate sign of God’s love, giving His life for us so we can have salvation. And through faith in Jesus, we become part of a new family, defined not by blood but by following Jesus and living according to God’s will.
MISSIONS SUNDAY

A New Kingdom
Where the Spirit of God is at work, the kingdom of God has come to earth.
The strong man represents Satan
The possessions represent the demon-possessed man
The “someone” represents Jesus

A New Sign
There is no greater sign of Jesus’s love for you than that of His life given for you.
A New Family
The “will of God” in Matthew’s Gospel means obeying God’s commands by following Jesus.
