Faith Over Fear // Be Aware!

September 13, 2026

Jesus came to show us the Father and to allow us, as sinners, to gain access to God. God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to us. Most Christians understand the Gospel intellectually. We know we are not perfect, and we are in need of a Savior. But few Christians actually live in the overwhelming grace and love of God every day. When we do, all fear is gone. We have complete faith and trust in the One who loves us even more than we love ourselves. Jesus’ heart beats for you. Choose faith over fear today because you are loved!

1. Listen to Jesus

“Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.” Matthew 11:20

  • There must be repentance in your life.
  • There are very real consequences to believing or not believing in Jesus.
  • Jesus doesn’t expect you to be perfect, but He does expect you to accept Him.

2. God Reveals Himself in Jesus

“No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.” Matthew 11:27b

  • Jesus calling God “Father” was radical.
  • Only through the Son can we gain access to the Father.

3. Jesus brings us true rest

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

  • Living in fear is exhausting.
  • Jesus brings us spiritual rest.
  • “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” – St. Augustine, Confessions

4. Learn Jesus’ heart

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart…” Matthew 11:29

  • Jesus reveals His heart
  • “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” James 4:8
  • Most Christians understand the Gospel intellectually, but struggle to know Jesus personally.
  • Jesus’ compassion is deeper than we can imagine.
  • Jesus’ heart beats for you.
