Summary

The transformation of Saul reminds us that God is the only One who can change a heart! God not only shows us His grace and mercy, but gives us work to do in spite of our flaws, shortcomings, and sinful pasts. If you are currently in a season of darkness or held captive by things from your past, know that God has an amazing plan! It is also safe to say, God is calling you to be like Ananias...to go and see the potential that God has for others and to do the hard work of helping others fulfill their calling!

Content

1. When you persecute the flock, you persecute the Shepherd
“Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” Acts 9:5-6

2. Darkness may be the only way you ever truly see the light.
Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything. Acts 9:8-9

3. Jesus is far less concerned with your past than the world around you is.
“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to Your holy people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.” But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is My chosen instrument to proclaim My name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.” Acts 9:13-15

4. God will use you, but it is going to cost you!
I will show him how much he must suffer for My name. Acts 9:16

5. The transformation found in Christ changes everything!
Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength. Acts 9:18-19
