We know that it is sometimes tough to reach out to friends, co-workers, and neighbors and talk to them about faith. Sports With a Purpose is meant to provide regular opportunities to reach out to others, by using sports as a tremendous bridge-builder tool within our community. As an outreach ministry, we currently have co-ed teams and men’s teams, and we would love to add to women’s teams as interest grows!
Sports With a Purpose is open to anyone from any campus. Currently, most leagues are in the Franklin or Columbia area; however, we would love to expand to Nashville West, Nolensville, and Nashville South whenever someone is ready to lead a sport at their campus!
Because so many of our sports take place in the spring and summer, once a year, we offer post-Sunday service sign-up opportunities at all of our campuses. Our next big round of sign-ups will be on Sunday, February 18, so join us at your campus to learn more about Sports With a Purpose!
If you would like to learn more about this ministry, or about creating or joining a team, please contact John Simons.
Co-Ed Pickleball League
Beginning on Saturday, March 2, we will meet every Saturday for an 8-week season, and close out with a tournament on April 27. For more information, contact Austin Cravatt.
Men's Golf League
Since 2019, we've had a Men’s Golf League. The league is an opportunity for weekly fellowship, group devotional time, and nine holes of friendly competition with a “team” concept where golfers of all skill levels are placed into competitive teams. At the end of the season, we will host a Golf Scramble and a fun closing meal complete with awards. To learn more, please contact Jordan Echols.
We're playin' basketball, guys! Men’s Pickup Basketball takes place at our Franklin Campus Sport Court on Mondays at 7pm. If you're interested in being a part of the playing or helping provide leadership for it, please contact Rich Minton.
Sporting clays is a great time, filled with opportunities for good conversation and competition. It’s a fun monthly outing that you are free to come and try out! Please contact Eric Freeze for any additional info.
Running & Walking Club
Our co-ed running club is for runners of various levels, but desiring to run a 5K, half-marathon, or a full. If you're interested in being a part of the club, please contact Gordon Boutwell.
We are currently participating in a Columbia softball league. After the season begins rosters are locked, however, we always have openings for substitutes and for future teams and leagues. If interested in playing or helping coach a team, please contact Eric Rojas.
Each year we host a co-ed Fantasy Baseball league. The 12 owners were made up of first-time and experienced players as well. Each year has been a blast, and we look forward to another league coming soon. If interested in playing or helping provide leadership for a league, please contact John Simons.
Each year we host a co-ed Fantasy Football league. The team owners were made up of first-time and experienced players as well. Each year has been a blast, and we look forward to another league next fall. If interested in playing or helping provide leadership for a league, please contact Alvin Kirpal.
In order to launch other women's Sports With a Purpose teams, we need someone willing to lead! If any woman is interested in leading or helping lead a sport in the coming year, please contact John Simons.
We have had some interest in several other sports at the Franklin Campus, Nashville, and Nolensville Campuses as well. To start a sport at Rolling Hills, a leader must be a committed follower of Jesus, be committed to Rolling Hills as their home church, be willing to use the sport to reach our community and make sure it breaks even financially. If you are interested in being a leader, please contact John Simons.
