We live in a world where it is easy to be held captive by fear, where truth is continually up for grabs and where we seek power and meaning in a variety of places. Pray for God to lead you on that path today!

This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. 1 John 4:13

The clearest way to discern if something is of God, is to evaluate the “truth” it is based on.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. 1 John 4:2-3a

The power of God surpasses the power of everything else.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

A great indicator of knowing God, is whether or not you love.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8

The greatest act of love the world has ever, and will ever see, is God sending Jesus!

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Fear holds you captive, but it doesn’t have to.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Love of God and hate for people cannot coexist.
Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20
