“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. — John 3:4-6

On May 22, 2022, Alexandra Stephens was baptized. Nine years prior, she came into the world as a child of her parents. For Alexandra, May 22 is now both her birthday and a time to celebrate her re-birthday as a child of God. 

Although her moment of salvation came when she first put her faith in Jesus a couple of years earlier, her baptism was her symbolic, public pronouncement of her decision to follow Jesus for all her days. There is nothing special about the literal water in our baptismal — Alexandra has been made new by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and His living water which cleanses and sanctifies her in His name. 

We are so excited for the growth in Alexandria’s faith, especially in the past couple of years. We are blessed to have the opportunity to come alongside her as God continues to work in her life.
