Summary
Just like God called Nehemiah, so God’s call comes to each of us. God's call always takes boldness. When God gives a vision, we must pray and plan. We pray for God to go before us and prepare the way, and then we take the time to plan as we join God in accomplishing His will. Nehemiah shows us the importance of both praying and planning. So, what’s your plan? What’s your plan to grow spiritually, to disciple your family, and to make a difference in the world for the glory of God? God has given us, at Rolling Hills, a vision and a plan, so let’s build together a godly life and a great church for the glory of our gracious God!

Nehemiah had a vision from God (Nehemiah 1), then he developed a plan (Nehemiah 2).
The king said to me, “What is it you want?” Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.” Nehemiah 2:4-5
- Nehemiah prayed and planned.
- Nehemiah knew the cost.
- Nehemiah set a deadline.
- Nehemiah overcame fear.
- Following God takes boldness – and Nehemiah did it!
- Nehemiah chose calling over comfort.
As God’s Church today, He has given us an incredible vision and a plan.
And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my request. Nehemiah 2:8b
- Our vision at Rolling Hills is “a people of God, reaching out, growing up, giving all.”
- To reach people for Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)
- To grow fully mature believers (Ephesians 4:11-13)
- To give glory to God (Ephesians 3:20-21)
- Our God has also given us a plan to accomplish His vision.
- For 20 years, we have been carrying out God’s plan in worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
- And, now God is calling us to what is NEXT

- The NEXT Generation
- The NEXT Ministry
- The NEXT Mission
- The NEXT One
God has given you a vision for your life, so what’s your plan?
They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:18b
- What’s your plan to grow spiritually?
- What’s your plan to disciple your family?
- What’s your plan to make a difference in the world for the glory of God?
- What’s your plan to invest in eternity?
