Summary

Today is our Commitment Sunday! Today is exactly 52 days since we started our NEXT Campaign as a church. Nehemiah and the people rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem in 52 days, and just imagine what God will do through us as we have prayed, sacrificed, and now give together. The people back then set the stage for Jesus’ first coming, and we are building His church and setting the stage for our Savior’s second coming. Today is a special day! May our God find us faithful as we invest in The NEXT 20 Years, The NEXT Generation, The NEXT Ministry, The NEXT Mission, and The NEXT One. Come, Lord Jesus, and find us faithful!

Content

Remember me for this also, my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love. Nehemiah 13:22b

We all stand on the faithful shoulders of others.

Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. Nehemiah 9:5b-6

The Lord sees what you do for Him

Remember me for this, my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services. Nehemiah 13:14

Avoid “spiritual amnesia” at all costs!

Didn’t your ancestors do the same things, so that our God brought all this calamity on us and on this city? Now you are stirring up more wrath against Israel by desecrating the Sabbath. Nehemiah 13:18

Terrible things happen when work and vision outpace character

Remember them, my God, because they defiled the priestly office and the covenant of the priesthood and of the Levites. Nehemiah 13:29

Do you want your legacy to look like what the world says is important or what God says is important?

Remember me with favor, my God. Nehemiah 13:31b

Your generosity always makes a bigger difference than you can imagine!

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
